The Proposed Killing Of Sea Lions ...
17th january 2008 - In the USA, a proposal to kill sea lions was announced today. Apparently, Sea lions have increased in population and are responsible for decreasing the salmon population. A decision to kill the sea lions in order to save the fish may take place in 30 days. I'm both shocked and appalled, that a Country like the USA, could allow this to take place. Biologist Garth Griffins was quoted as saying "the salmon are at a huge disadvantage." Hello!!! What about the sea lions??? The decision of NOAA to go through with killing the sea lions will be based on the response of the public, which means those sea lions have a chance! Please be a voice for the sea lions and write to: Steve.Meyers@noaa.gov and tell NOAA how you feel. Please write to them even if you don't live in the USA. Please repost this to all on your friends/contact lists. Thanks in advance for helping intervene in this unnecessary cull! P.S. I'm swimming with the salmon too! |
