When I was a young boy ...
When I was a young boy ... one thing I loved doing with my pushbike, was making it sound like a REAL motor bike. I did this by sticking a piece of cardboard through the wheel spokes and attaching it to the bike frame with a wooden peg I had 'borrowed' from the clothes basket. As I pedalled and the wheel rotated, the cardboard made a 'clackety, clackety' sound as it was hit by the spokes of the wheel. This sound would drive my parents, the neighbors AND the local dogs, absolutely bonkers. I didn't do it to be annoying - I was just having a bit of fun. Most times, the peg never made it back into the basket. They had a habit of splitting. eeeks! Sorry mother. |
